  2. Hi, I am soon to be a retiree and well into my 60’s. I had birds as a kid I lived 3 miles north if the Bronx and had 3 coops back then. Not racing, just raising and enjoying and keeping us out of trouble. I remember the rooftops in the Bronx, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon and on and on in Westchester as having lofts on the roofs as well as in the backyards. I used to go to the New Rochelle Racing Pigeon club on Saturday nights before the Sunday race to see who and what birds were going to fly Sundays 200 or 300 mile race from Maryland, Delaware or Virginia. After all of these years I plan to build an 8′ X 12′ loft in my back. It seems to me that this is a forgotten past time partly because of the bad rap the birds and their lofts carry with them. I fully expect to jump head first back into this hobby/ sport soon. I have reached out and heard from some guys from the other side of the county but with the local race club, we spoke and corresponded once and not again. My goal is breed, fly and race and promote the sport. I dropped a one liner to a neighbor last week and he looked at me like I was nuts, I checked with the local building department am allowed whatever I want, I have 1 acre of property. I welcome comments back to my aol mail

    thanks.

  3. I think pigeon fancier all over the world is growing but we want clear knowledge and tips for developng the sports and also the medical supplement to improve the pigeons health during racing season.

  4. I think alot of people don’t know anything at all about Pigeon Racing. And the ones that do search for it’s existence. There are a special desire to do this and a special person to commit to doing it.

  5. No younger men joining the pigeon clubs because of the cost and its is a 365 days a year committed to your pigeon.

  6. I am very new to pigeon racing ing here in Cornwall Ontario. Just yesterday I was talking to a gentleman who has been involved with it for the past 30 yrs. and I was told that in this area it is just about dead. I am trying with him to revive the sport here in Cornwall. It will be an uphill battle. I am ready for the climb.

  7. Here in the Philippines. Pigeon Racing is growing in a tremendous rate. Clubs are rising like mushrooms. 10 to 20 years from now maybe we’ll have a television forecast about Pigeon Racing alone. Products from other countries for Pigeon are already been imported. Almost all clubs here have 1000plus active members. There are no regulations here to control the population of Pigeon you owned as long as you can take care of them properly.

  8. I’m new to the sport but for years I’ve tried to join in my experience I’ve found it’s hard to find a club mainly because it’s hard to own pigeons in the city I’m from I would like to see the sport and racers get more legally legally involved unionizing all pigeon owners under one law so they are protected, being protected by law would encourage more people to own/race of course this is going to cost money witch could be made up in fundraiser races also each club should donate to the cause also from a political point of view letting inner city kids I know Chicago is in desperate need for kids to find something other to do then shoot guns sell drugs or join gangs, the bully dog breeders were able to pull it off I believe so could the pigeon Community.

    Sincerely sincerely Patrick Jentsch.
