*Video* Loft Design, Dr. John Lamberton

Here is an excellent video from Dr. John Lamberton, in this video he explains how his loft is designed. His loft is setup like most belgian lofts with multiple identical sections and each section has 6, 8 or even 9 nestboxes and each nestbox is identical. A great tip as you will see in the video is only use the nestboxes for the amount of birds you are racing, don’t fill each nestbox just because theres room. When you do it that way each hen will have plenty of room and will not be overcrowded.

Conclusion
When designing your loft make sure that you divide it into small sections that you can control and make sure that each pigeon has plenty of room.

  1. Dr John Lamberton is a wealthy man and has a passion to be the best at anything he does. He has very good pigeons and his methods are old school Belgian racing. He spent time there, developed friends, raced well there and continues to do well at home. I think it is wonderful that he shares knowledge of the benefits of keeping less pigeons and keep the best quality birds. Most racers I know keep too many birds. Read his blogs sometime to learn how to discover the best birds and enjoy racing with less birds. Fascinating stuff.

  2. Hi Dr John Lamberton you gave some good tips on not overcrowding. And you have a very nice setup. But most people i know including myself could not afford to build a loft like yours Brad.

  3. I am mentally designing my loft and have heard you should not locate nest boxes across from each other? The reason I question this, is rather than have stacks that require cleaning, a single layer around the perimeter would allow droppings to fall through to the floor?

  4. It sure would be great to be in a situation where you could afford to build a big loft with lots of sections. The new loft i’m building only has two sections and thats costing me a fortune as it is.Wood is getting so expensive these day’s.I’ll just have to keep less birds.

  5. VERY INTERESTING THE MANY WAYS THE PIGEON FLYERS HAVE TO KEEP THERE BIRDS HEALTHY AND IN CONDITION TO RACE THE BIRDS. AND IT WORKS. RAY

  6. I just wanted the take this time to thank Dr. John Lamberton, for taking the time to not only make excellent videos, but to also thank him for the great information.
