  1. I loved it.Mike is a tortured soul with a violent past, thank God he has found peace.I hope the training and dissapointments don’t set him off and I believe pigeon keeping will surge in popularity because of Mike Tyson.I really miss my homers, but the terrible hawk problem here on Nantucket has ruined pigeon flying.Good luck Mike!

  2. I loved it!!!! It was real, straight foward and honest. I was especially struck by Mike kissing his pigeon. I can relate to his love for his birds. These birds bring out a special quality in people. You can’t know it until you experience it for yourself. I do think that the racing aspect of our sport will bring out the fighter in Mike. He and the birds are about to really have a common bond….they are both athletes. It will be exciting to see his story unfold. Go MIKE!!! Mo Williams =Williams Family Loft, Slidell, LA

    1. Hello Mo,

This is Mitch from Cali. I am glad to see you here. I agree with you 100%. There was a scene where Mike was back in his neighborhood reminiscing the past and it just about brought tears to his eyes. I felt his emotions, and it seems that Mike is a sentimental and sensitive person. The show is great, I love it.
BTW, I was wondering if the WFL website is down. I miss your articles on “Featured Feather”. My favorite is still Sammie and the story of her odyssey, lol.
Take care, and you go Mo!!!

  3. I thought they did a great job with the show and was impressed that Tyson, while there was mention throughout the episode, did not focus on his boxing career, but the birds.
Hopefully this will strenthen the sport and show people how wonderful pigeons are. I am one of the few people in my part of the state that will take in injured pigeons and I find it very disheartening how the public perceives them.
My ten year-old is totally geeked to train is own birds now!

  4. The programme is not on here until friday.UK. I hope i can find some one that has the discovery channel so that i can see it. I believe it will help the sport no end

  5. it was great can’t wait til next sunday. It was good to see a birds eye view of the birds in a race back home to there home loft. would like to see the results how joe from three amigos loft, i have have a great breeding hen from him in my loft. feels like race day for me being here from the east coast.

    1. The aerial footage of the pigeons flying home was quite spectacular. It was shot from a helocopter. This is a big production from Animal Planet and they also used nice cinematography. This is a very good documentary/mini series.

  6. It was better than I expected. I would think in the coming weeks it will be more about pigeons and the sport of racing them, then it is about Mike Tyson, his boxing, and his troubles. I hope so. Never-the-less, thanks to Mike for bringing our sport to the public and doing it in a good light. We can use the publicity

    1. On an interview, Mike did mention that the first episode would be more about his background. In the succeeding episodes we will witness Mike’s trials and tribultions of pigeon racing. I loved the show, was so excited on the day it aired. I cannot wait for the next episode.

  7. I don’t have access to cable, or animal planet. I work weekend nights and would have liked to watch. The reviews are good, so anytime pigeons are promoted is good.

  8. BORN AND RAISED IN THE BX I TOO ALWAYS STAY ON THE ROOF TOPS FLYING MY BIRDS ALL DAY IT REALLY WAS’NT UNTIL I MOVED TO FLORIDA THAT I GOT INTO RACING HOMERS AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM ME AND MIKE WHEN IT COMES TO PIGEONS ALMOST THINK THE SAME AS WHERE WE KEEP A BIRD BECAUSE SHE’S A LOOKER OR A COCK BECAUSE HE SLAPS AND BUGS REEL HARD MIKE HAS ONE OF THE BEST FLYER’S SHOWING HIM HANDS ON AND BELEIVE ME THAT DOES SAVE ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY I SUPPORT MIKE AND HIS SHOW OUR PIGEON WORLD REALLY NEEDED SOMEONE TO STEP TO THE PLATE AND MIKE JUST HIT A GRAND SLAM IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH WITH 2 OUT’S AND A FULL COUNT TRUE PIGEON FLYER’S WILL HAVE PIGEON’S TILL THE DAY WE DIE.

  9. I loved the show and recorded it and will watch every episode! Thanks Mike and friends it was a very delightful program showing the beautiful pigeons in a favorable light. I would love to see this become an ongoing series because it will get more people interested in this fine sport. Mike Tyson and pigeons forever!!

    1. It is slated for six episodes. Everyone should drop an email to Animal Planet to show support of the show.

  10. I enjoyed it, but I was hoping it would be more informant about pigeon life. I raised homing pigeons when I was a kid in Cuba.
I was surprised when they released the pigeons the 1st time, without having the birds get familiar with their surroundings.
    But overall, I enjoyed it.
