  1. The amazing and challenging sport of pigeon racing in the PHILIPPINES is continuously becoming more and more popular… you can check clock.cav.ph.
We have north derby races w/c starts on july; and south derby races on nov. or dec..
They say pigeon raising and racing is expensive and requires a lot of time and effort,,, well if a fancier is open to new ideas and use internet as a learning tool, sites like pigeon insider can help them enjoy the sport..

  2. help, i notice one or two of my pigeon are sneezing, secound i notice like a black fly on one , how can i take care of these cases, thnxs…..

  3. here in the Island of Puerto Rico the sport of racing pigeon is not so common, the little that existes is due to the people that come from the U S , we need to promote the sport and give the people positive thoughts of pigeon racing , im open to any sugguestion on how to help grow the competitive of the sport, im really glad i found this site, so i can comunicate with other fanciers, thanks once again , keep me posted please.

      1. Hey Carlos, i’m from Aguada. As a kid I used to fly homers in P.R. just for fun, now i’m in the Bronx, but planning to go back in the next couple of years and start a loft. Is the club in Aguadilla still active? Drop me a line, thanks .

  4. @ Mzzfannyfeathers:

Magic tea is just another vague idea that makes a newcomer confused and worried about…It makes raising pigeons seem so complicated! πŸ˜€

    1. so many road’s too CHINA…..
but the road im on keeps going around and around and sometimes i wish i could get off….
if nothing is working we all have too try something new cant keep doing the same thing over and over again and keep coming last….
magic tea might b that bend in the round road..

  5. >> Pigeon Racing <<

To winners, "It's a serious business!"

To losers, "It's just a simple hobby.."

To newbies, "Antibiotics as preventive treatment, magic tea, secret potion, and eyesign"

    LOL!

    1. Well Think,
I find that comment very interesting,
we see it as a hobby and we have our fare share of win’s,
I would never call us LOSER’s we are WINNER’s…
I think too many flyers use too much meds and it just flattens the birds…

Can u tell me what magic tea is???

      MZZ Fanny Feather’s…:)

    2. That’s like i once got told too use curry, and you never know whom is telling u the truth???
I used curry but didnt seem too do anything, well maybe it kept them warm at night, but i always thought thats what the fathers wer for…
I have been told so much STUFF and sometimes we try them sometimes we dont but u never know if what u r trying is good or bad,u got some people that just love too tell u shit so u do no good,so its sort of work it out 4 yourself!!!!

Thats why these forums are so good cause u can read about alot of different thing and go from there…

  6. Pigeon racing is not seen as a hobby like in the old days any longer, but a big business where huge amount of money and time are invested.

It’s not a young boy with a dozen of pigeons that lovingly tend them after school, giving them nothing more than a mixture of grains, clean fresh water and grits. Instead, it has become a group of retired old men with hundreds of birds in the farmyard; who conscientiously formulates the feeds, mixes antibiotics and chemicals in the drinker, and visits a vet almost weekly.

It’s not about your old friendly neighbor who’s willing to spare you a pair of his late-hatch youngsters and share all his knowledge and experience so that you can have a friendly competition with him and some of his friends in the local pigeon club. Rather, it’s the guy from internet whose name you can’t pronounce correctly. He’s auctioning birds he acquired from his travels to different lofts abroad, yet has not won any race for himself…Others may just sell you magic potions and other performance and preventive antibiotics & medicine as if saying it’s sure way to make even a mediocre bird a champion.

  7. I don’t know about pigeon racing when I was in it about 15 years ago it was only one club here in Columbia, s.c. and when I was looking for a club few weeks ago it was still only one club. I have not called to join yet because I want to get my loft built and ready for birds first.I had to put it on the back burner right now because I had to have a pace maker put in a few weeks ago.But I did enjoy it when I was in it 15 years ago.

  8. The question WHAT CAN WE DO TOO HELP RACING PIGEONS SPORT GROW??

I really don’t think it’s going too grow i think it’s dieing out with the member’s as sad as that sound’s.We are the youngest in our club and we are the age’s of early 40’s..And in our fed i think we would be the yougest also, maybe a few in there mid 30’s.We have been growing in our club with one new member joining the last few year’s,but we also have had one a year withdraw from racing pigeon’s.Getting too old too keep up the work load.
I think the only way the sport will continue is with
    ONE LOFT RACES..
And then just maybe more people will get interested in that as it brings in a bit of fun but no work…
We have about 60 people in our fed and its been around 60 people since we started racing 8 years ago.
We race in Australia and we only race a very small team as with kids and work its just too hard too give 100%,we have a very small team and this year starting with no more than 40,we hope too get too the end of the race season but it will be very difficult with only the 40..
I think sometimes people keep way too many birds, maybe if they had fewer they might stay in the game of pigeon racing also…

Im going too copy somebody quote in saying
    ONLY MY 2 CENTS WORTH!!!!

  9. Pigeon racing was a poor mans race horse, but sadly is no more. The sport has become too expensive for the younger end { and you can’t plug the bird in, you can’t twitter it, you can’t facebook it and you can’t you tube it } Now can smeone tell me how much lecthin and how much spirulina.

  10. Here in Holland more and moere people stop with pigeonracing!
I think to much money is part off it!
There will always be people that will go on with it:)

    Bless you, Leo
