*Video* Health Tip Adding Garlic to Your Birds Drinking Water.

Here is another great video from Dennis of hawkbait lofts, he shows how he adds garlic to his birds drinking water once per week. He simply takes 4 cloves of ordinary garlic and removes the skin then pokes holes in them ad adds them to one gallon of drinking water. The garlic helps to purify the pigeons blood if you notice your pigeons nose is getting grey the garlic will help turn it back to healthy chalky white, it helps with curculation helping the viens to open and the blood to flow. The garlic also helps in the birds intestinal tract you should also notice that their droppings become firmer.

  3. The way we do it in Trini is to blend the garlic in the water and give it to the birds. This helps a lot in keeping the birds in top form.

  6. We are quite new to the sport so all these tips and advice are really helpful. Do you perhaps have any tips etc on homing pigeons – both babies and older birdsl. We bought over someone’s stock pigeons and want to try and home them. And then I am looking for tips to decrease the amount of babies one looses around the loft

    1. Hi JVN,,,,I don’t know if anyone has replied yet so I’ll try to help,,,,,,,,,First,,getting older stock birds to home to your loft is very difficult,,not impossible,,but hard to do,,,,you will probably lose several and if the previous owner is close by you will be bringing them back and forth a lot,,,,,if you are not afraid to lose valuable stock then try this,,,,,,,first they have to have an aviary of some sort so they can see the surroundings,,and in this aviary they have to have a oneway entrance into the loft and you must train them to use it,,,,,do this for at least a month if not two,,,they should all be mated and on eggs or babies when you let them out of the aviary

      1. Hi Ricardo.
Thats what I was told to do with my new 2year old birds. I have 4pr of white homers that I will let in the aviary and enter one way. As they raise their young in the loft after 2 or 3 months I am hoping that they will be able to fly with the youngsters and return with them as well.
        Regards,
        John
